No Girls Allowed?

When I found out I was pregnant for the first time I so wanted a baby girl.  Seven months along my ultrasound shot down that dream.

My second pregnancy was so different than my first I was sure this time I was having a girl.  Thirty-six and a 1/2 weeks later - I had a new baby boy.

I really wanted a girl.  Well, at least I thought I did.  As my boys grew my need for a daughter lessened.  Actually, I would have had one more child (at least) if I had been guaranteed another boy.  The fear of having a girl kept me from adding another birdie to our nest.

I don't think I would have been a good mom to a girl.  I'm not frilly.  I don't wear dresses.  I don't like shopping.  I curse like a sailor (work in progress).  I'm highly in appropriate.

I love my nieces and all the little girls I come into contact with at school.  I participate in Girls on the Run.  I hope to be the very best mom-in-Law ever (second to my own mom-in-law).  If blessed with granddaughters, I will learn to make ponytails and I WILL shop for all things frilly.

For now.... I'll enjoy my boys and embrace that I am outnumbered.

In the begining hubs wanted a girl while I wanted a boy.. #1 was a boy..then we wanted another boy to have a playmate for #2.. so #2 was a boy too..but hubs had always wanted a girl.. after much planning we managed to get a #3's a girl.. and daddy's pet.
I'm not a girly girl but I hope my little girl will be one.. I think you will be a good mum if you do have a girl.. you never know.

I was blessed with one boy and two daughters. Now I'm blessed with two grandsons and three granddaughters. One think I have learned, at least in my family boys are EASIER!! By far. :)

Funny-I never wanted sons. And we have 4 daughters! I never felt as though I missed out on anything not having a son. Besides, had we had one he would have been spoiled rotten by his sisters! LOL You will make a great MIL- our oldest is married and we call her hubby BestSonInLawEVER and he is! I like getting boys in the family this way. But now that the girls are all out there is a bit much testosterone here what with Hubs and the dog. LOL

We had four boys and one girl. All my boys have had friends in and out of our house for years and I love it. I am always outnumbered (our dog is male too) I'm your newest follower!

When I was first pregnant I was the opposite - I sooo wanted a boy first. I had always wanted a "big" brother growing up, and wanted that for my kids;plus, I am definitely not a girly girl, either. Then it turned out I was having a girl. Things work out like they do for a reason - she is a great big sister to her little brother.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
