Do Not Worry

Yesterday I was feeling sorry for myself when it really doesn't matter. Sure our situation is bad but it could ALWAYS be worse. Let's say the worst happens - we lose our cars, home... We still have each other.  We still have family.

No matter how bad things get, they can always be worse. No matter how bad things get, there's always something to be grateful for.

Years ago God lead me to read the New Testament.  Since that time, when things get bad, He brings His words to mind.

So this is what He reminded me:

Matthew 6:25-34 (New International Version)
Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I am so sorry that you are going thru sucha tough time right now..but your post is true. If you can possibly control it, don't worry. Things will happen but we make it to the other side. The less things we have, the more we realize how rich we are in love.

Mona,
All I can say is you are so right...God is on your left, your right, above you, behind you, in front of you. And yes, it could be worse, but you all are going to make it through.
We have a had a difficult time lately ourselves, not just with money issues but relationally. And sometimes, we just have to "stand!"
May you have the grace of the Lord to "stand" and be blessed.

He will take care of you. Always. He will always be beside you, watching over you, providing what you need.

Some days I know it's hard to remember these things....
